Fighting Game of 2016

With the new year here it’s time to recap of 2016 and choose my fighting game of the year.

There were a couple of good fighting games in 2016. We had Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, Street Fighter V, Pokken Tournament, Blazblue: Central Fiction and Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator.

All are good fighting games but which one is fighting game of 2016? For me the fighting of 2016 has to be……….. Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator!!!

Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator is a great fast paced offensive fighting game and has a pretty interesting diverse of characters and the presentation is beautiful. The characters look amazing and their instant kills are fantastic. Story isn’t something to brag about but arcade mode makes up for it and there are plenty of other modes to play.

Now the biggest reason Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator is getting fighting game of 2016 is because of the tutorial. The tutorial had to be the best I’ve ever seen. Not only does the game do a good job of explaining how to the play but it gives match up tutorial against certain characters and their certain move. This has never been done before in a fighting game and quite frankly I never thought it could actually happen but hey I’m glad I was wrong. You always want players to learn something in a fighting game and I really believe Arc System did a great job with this.

It is hard to find an actual physical copy of this game because they aren’t many in stores. Players have a better chance buying it online at Amazon or Ebay but players can also choose to download Revelator on the PlayStation Store.

I really believe anime fighters don’t get the credit they deserve. Revelator is popular in Japan but not so much here in America and I never really understood that. I wish this game would get more players involved but time will tell.

If you are a fighting game fan I would highly recommend Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator. Arc System always make great fighting games. For more on Revelator check out my review on it
